Over the 25,800-year cycle of the precession of the equinoxes, the position of the Southern Cross relative to the south celestial pole varies considerably. The stars of this constellation were known to the ancient Greeks and were visible as far north as Britain in the fourth millennium.
It was during one of these such cycles, from the pits of Hades the Dead King of the underworld created the legend of Man and called it HOMBRE.
In time when the earth cooled a seed was planted, this seed took root and formed the foundations of a most epic nerd fest, a barber shop born of a seed of an idea and a name into the whole universe of lore and canon.

The barbers of Hombre are a special breed indeed (and we do only staff fully licensed barbers). Our attention to detail is legendary among our clients, as well as our love of our craft.
We live and breathe hair (sometimes literally) with the sole purpose of making you look and feel like the best version of yourself. Our standard cuts and beards are easy to wear, easy to style, and easy on the grow out, but if you want to get epic, we will so get epic.

OUR HISTORY
Hombre opened its doors back in 1985, we were the first of our kind. A Barber shop that was using new cutting techniques derived from more specific cutting elements only used at the time on Ladies hair-cutting. The Barber shops of the 80's were a kind of one cut shop, no matter what you asked for you got the same cut as everyone else, short.
Its 1985 Hombre moves into a building that at one time was the home of Paramount distribution Office.
Where local cinemas once acquired their movie reels.
Janet Adams opened the shop with the help of her Mum Myrtle, a salon owner, after building the business and running it for 11 years Janet left for a new life in America. Though she still is the owner of the Business her Brother took up the challenge of managing the business after she left for the West Coast.
Ernest has been in the Hairdressing family business from the age of 13. He started his days shampooing hair at weekends, then summer holidays and finally at the age of 16 decided to head off to hairdressing College.
After 2 years of study he decided to complete on the highest level at hairdressing competitions. At his first competition he gained 2nd over all place and two other hair awards. He has gone on to win All Ireland Gentleman's hair cutting Champion of Champions and later added over 12 more awards to his name.
With over 30 years of experience and with many other awards to his name, like Master Craftsman in barbering. He finished an Honours Degree in Computer Science to top off his skills. He has been a teacher and driving force in local Barbering skills in Belfast. A judge at local level hair competitions and today is the most highly awarded barber in Belfast.
Hombre is a family run business with family values at the heart of all its services. We are a Sci Fi and comic book themed barbers with many models on Display.
